AI & Hollywood: A Frequently Heated Discussion About What's At Stake For The WGA, SAG & Entertainment Community
This Recent Digital Hollywood Roundtable Dives Into The Key Issues & Arguments On All Sides (With Leading Producers, Directors, Showrunners & Writers)
I recently joined a roundtable discussion hosted by Digital Hollywood titled “AI: The Controversy - Voices of the Creative Community: Actors - Writers - Producers - Guild Members.” And true to its name, “controversy” ruled the day in a discussion that frequently became heated - unpacking the issues, positions, impact and passions at stake with AI, Hollywood and the lives turned upside down by the current strikes.
The roundtable featured Brett Leonard, co-founder of VFX house Ubiquity and director of the classic prophetic film “Lawnmower Man” (who served as overall foil as he voiced the most contentious positions), Chris McGuire, a comedy writer and showrunner for “Martha & Snoop” (among others), Marc Guggenheim, writer and producer of several films and classic television series, moderator Catherine Clinch, writer on several classic television series, and “yours truly” of course (voicing many of the positions you have come to know through my writing).
You can watch and listen to it all here via this link.
It’s definitely worthwhile.
